3 Individuals Charged with Endangering Children

Pike County Sheriff Charles S. Reader Reports that on Sunday February 12, 2017 at 9:07 pm the Pike County Sheriff’s office received a 911 call about a 2 year old female having seizures. While in route to Adena Pike Medical Center, Pike County Squad 7 requested a deputy to meet them at the hospital due to suspicion of child abuse. The child was found to have life threatening head injuries. The 2 year old was later airlifted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus for surgery.

As a result of the investigation by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office 3 individuals have been charged in relationship to the incident. 36 year old Dustin Ison and 27 year old Kristen Monst were both charged with Endangering Children (a felony of the 3rd degree) and Felonious Assault (a felony of the 2nd degree). Both are currently incarcerated, and being held on a $250,000 bond. Also charged was Danielle Krafthefer the 25 year old mother of the child. Ms. Krafthefer was charged with Endangering Children (a felony of the 3rd degree) and is being held on a $90,000 bond.

The investigation is still on going.
