Steven Weaver Found Without Incident; Child Located Safely After Wondering from Home

Sheriff Charles Reader reports that in a joint effort with his office, the US 23 Major Crimes Task Force, the Ross County Sheriff’s Office and the Pike County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Steven Weaver who was wanted on several active warrants through the Pike County Common Pleas Court for Receiving Stolen Property and Forgery was apprehended without incident at around 6:37 pm on Thursday, June 18th.

It is with this type of collaboration between agencies and the public that make it easier to seek out a person that is wanted,  and safely take them into custody without incident, said Sheriff Reader it is my goal to work with the public and all law enforcement agencies to ensure that we can safely provide service to the citizens of Pike Count and surrounding counties.

Sheriff Charles Reader also reports that on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at around 3:16 p.m. his office along with the Pebble and Benton Township Fire Departments, Pebble Township Squad 7, the Pike County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and members of the community responded to the 1100 block of SR 124 in Latham, Ohio in reference to a missing 3 year old child that had wondered away from his residence. The child was located and found to be safe by Fire Department and Squad personnel who were met on the scene by Pike County Deputies and Sheriff Reader where the child was reunited with family members. It’s moments like this where the community, Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement come together in great effort to work together which yielded the best result, the child was found quickly and without injuries. The Waverly Police Department, Piketon Police Department and the Highland County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene, however, the child was located prior to their arrival. Sheriff Reader would like to thank every one involved for the valued effort in locating the child.
