The Pike County Sheriff’s Junior Deputy Program is designed for youth ages 7-17 to learn about law enforcement from firsthand experience. The program allows youth to work directly with law enforcement while learning about the skills required for the job. Youth who are interested should fill out the form below and return it to Major Ryan Bentley of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office.
It is the mission of this program to work hand in hand with the youth of our community by involving the youth in the Law Enforcement, EMS, and Fire Department functions within our community. The goal of this program is to conduct classes with the involved youth of our community to help them gain interest in later career choices, to acquaint the youth with the functions of all government agencies, and to help decrease the rate of juvenile delinquency . The Pike County Junior Deputies program hopes to be a positive and stable role model for all the involved youth of our community
The Junior Deputies will also conduct community service programs such as attending the Pike County Fair, sponsoring the Annual Halloween Bash, and attending other community events. The Pike County Junior Deputy program will also be holding there very own annual community service program, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Back to School Bash.
