Attempted breaking and entering thwarted.
Pike County Sheriff Richard Henderson reports on the night of July 2nd, 2010 at 12:46 a.m., his office apprehended a male subject, identified as Harry H. Howard of Otway, Ohio, who was seen in the area of Ricer Kubota Sales on US 23 and Wakefield Mound Road. Deputy Savage observed a suspicious vehicle; being a white in color Ford Windstar van in that area at around 12:30 a.m. Deputies then performed a uniformed traffic stop about the vehicle on US 23 North at Seif Road and identified Harry Howard operating the vehicle. Deputies soon discovered that Harry was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and ficticious tags. After Harry was taken into custody, Deputies conducted an inventory search of the contents to the vehicle. They observed a pair of 2-way radios, flashlights, black gloves, dark colored clothing, bolt cutters, and a set of steel folding vehicle ramps, which were located in the rear cargo area of the van. Deputies stated that the rear seats had been removed from the van in perhaps of hauling something large inside. After concluding their investigation, Deputies received information that Harry was planning to steal equipment from Ricer Kubota sales.
Harry was charged with Driving Under Suspension M-1, Attempted Breaking & Entering F-5, Attempted Theft F-4, and Posession of Criminal Tools F-5. Harry was taken to the Scioto County Jail for incarceration.
