Clandestine Methamphetamine Lab Located in Piketon

Pike County Sheriff Charles S. Reader reports that his office was contacted in the early morning hours by the Piketon Police Department for assistance in reference to a possible methamphetamine lab located inĀ  a dumpster behind the Piketon Motel. Deputies responded to assist Piketon Police officers and with further investigation identified the items as that being consistent with the bi products of a Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratory. A deputy trained in the dismantling of Methamphetamine Labs responded to the scene, neutralized, and removed the dangerous chemicals and items associated with the manufacturing of Methamphetamine. As a result of the investigation, 28 year old James Howes of Chillicothe, Ohio and 41 year old Kristi Rose of Wellston, Ohio were arrested and will be housed in the Scioto County Jail on Charges of Illegal Assembly a felony of the 3rd degree and Illegal Manufacture of Drugs a felony of the 2nd degree. The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the next term of the Pike County Grand Jury.
