Pike County Sheriff Reader reports, on October 17th 2015 at 2:29 a.m. his office received a call from Adena Pike Hospital advising a patient has just arrived at the ER with injuries sustained in a fight at Beril’s Bar in Piketon. When officers arrived at the hospital they learned the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
Piketon Chief Nelson requested assistance from Sheriff Reader and his investigators. Sheriff Reader responded to the scene with his Deputies and Investigators. Upon arrival, they requested BCI and an investigator from Prosecutor Rob Junks’ Office.
Sheriff Reader’s investigators and Piketon Police Officers then responded to Prosecutor’s office to obtain search warrant. Search warrant was successfully executed without incident. Suspect was taken in to custody and is fully cooperating with the investigating staff.
The identity of the victim is not being released due to unsuccessful death notification. He can report the victim is a 42 year old male from the Columbus area.
