Sheriff Richard N. Henderson reports the following activity for his office over the past weekend.
03/13/2009
Deputies arrested 3 individuals on Germany Rd. and charged them with Posession of Chemicals with Intent to Manufacture Drugs. The three subjects were found to have items that are used to manufacture Methamphetamines. Arrested were:
Gerald Potter (52) of McArthur, OH.
Donald Entler (25) of Waverly, OH
Kevin Wilburn (37) of Waverly, OH
All three were lodged in the Ross County Jail pending court hearings.
03/15/2009
Deputies conducted a Warrant Blitz and as a result 13 individuals were arrested on various charges and lodged in the Ross County Jail. Arrested were:
Michael Hawkins (19) of Chillicothe - Indictment on Breaking and Entering and Receiving Stolen Property.
Rebecca White (27) of Waverly - Indictment on Forgery
Edward Linson (28) of Chillicothe - Bench warrant on charges of Arson and Breaking and Entering
Lawrence Hoagland (37) of Waverly, Indictment for non-support of dependents.
William Tomlison (47) of Beaver, Indictment for non-support of dependents.
Bo Michelle Tackett (22) of Beaver, Indictment for Forgery and Receiving stolen property
Gary Greene (43) of Piketon, Indictment for Grand theft
Charlene Alley (36) of Waverly, Indictment for Forgery and Posession of dangerous drugs.
Shannon Wolfe (38) of Bainbridge, Indictment for Breaking and Entering
In addition to the above, three individuals were arrested on warrants out of Ross County and one individual was arrested on a warrant out of Jackson County.
Sheriff Henderson indicated that because of a large backlog of warrants that his office will continue to be aggressive in this matter. Since January 1, 2009 Deputies have served over 100 warrants for arrest. The courts have issued these warrants for the purpose of getting criminals off our streets and holding them accountable for their actions, therefore we will continue to execute all active warrants.
News: Traffic blitz on St. Patrick’s Day

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a St. Patrick’s Day traffic blitz. Deputies will be on patrol for aggressive driving, impaired driving, speeding, safety belt and child safety restraint usage.
This project is made possible by funding from the Ohio Department of Public Safety, Governor’s Highway Safety Office. A grant for high visibility overtime supports our efforts in making Pike County roadways safer to travel.
Sheriff Richard Henderson encourages you to have a designated driver, always wear your seat belt, and never drive impaired.

News: Four year old missing, later drowns

Sheriff Richard Henderson reports that on Sunday March 1, 2009, deputies were dispatched to the area of 3142 Sunfish Creek Rd. in reference to a missing four (4) year old child. Deputies along with area fire department personnel searched the area and found footprints along the edge of Sunfish Creek. Shortly after, the body of the four year old was found face down in the water about four feet from the edge of the bank. The child was pulled from the water and CPR was started immediately. The child was transported to Pike Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by PCH personnel.
