				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Thursday September 20,2012 the Pike County Sheriffs Office executed a search warrant at 499 Sugar Run Rd. Piketon, Ohio as a result of an investigation into the trafficking of heroin at this residence.  During a search of the premises the Sheriff&#8217;s Office collected numerous items evidencing drug trafficking.   Arrested was Brandon Lee Harris, 27, of Sugar Run Rd.  Harris was charged with trafficking in heroin F3 he was also charged with Tampering with Evidence F3 and an additional charge of trafficking in heroin a F4.  Also arrested was Sarah Williams, age 21 of Piketon and Justin Monst age 22 of Piketon both charged with possession of Heroin.</p>
<p>On Sunday September 23, 2012 at Approximately 7:54 pm the Pike County Sheriffs Office received a 911 call from Shirley&#8217;s Grocery on State Route 335, north east Pike County.  The caller reported that the store had been robbed at gun point and that the owner was chasing the suspect on foot.  While responding to the scene deputies learned the suspect dropped the gun and was being held by the store owner.  Kelli Kay Brown, 31, of Greenfield, Ohio was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery F1 and Tampering with evidence F3.  This case is scheduled to be presented to the next term of the Pike County Grand Jury where additional charges may be filed.</p>
<p>Sheriff Henderson commends the individuals working at the store for their actions and quick thinking during this incident.  Their actions ultimately resulted in the apprehension and arrest of the alleged perpetrator.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pike County Sheriff Richard N. Henderson reports that alst night, at 11:32 p.m. Deputies arrived at 4314 Pleasant Hill Rd. Waverly, Ohio regarding an anonymous complaint that methamphetamine was being manufactured at the residence.  Upon arrival Deputies observed items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine and smelled a strong odor of chemicals coming from the residence.  Deputies immediately removed all individuals from the residence including a three year old toddler that was present.</p>
<p>At 1:01 a.m. today Judge Cassandra Bolt issued a search warrant for the residence.  A complete search of the property and mobile home was conducted.  During the search numerous items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located.  An investigation into the criminal activity resulted in the arrest of five individuals.  Johnny E. Friley age 32, Carisa B. Friley 35 both of Waverly, Ohio and Erika Skaggs age 26 of West Portsmouth, Ohio were all charged with Manufacturin Methamphetamine, Illegal Posession of Chemicals to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Tampering with Evidence, Child Endangering, and Posession of Criminal Tools.  Nikkia Murray age 18 and Dakota A Dickey age 18 both of Waverly, Ohio were charged with Illegal Possesion of Chemicals to Manfacture Methamphetamine.</p>
<p>All five individuals are currently incarcerated at the Scioto County Jail.</p>

<p>Sheriff Richard N. <p>Sheriff Richard Henderson reports that on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 6:49 p.m., the Pike County Sheriff&#8217;s Office along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol were called to the area of St Rt. 32 just west of Shyville Rd in referene to an injury accident.  Further investigation found the accident had occurred due to a stabbing injury which the driver, Mallory Pettit, age 25, had sustained.  Mallory Pettit was taken from the scene by EMS personnel to the Pike County Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.</p>
<p>The Pike County Sheriff&#8217;s Office along with the Piketon Police Department located a person of interest found to be a Michael H. Schaffner, age 30.  Mr. Schaffner was taken into investigative custody and was later arrested and charged with Aggravated Murder.  He was taken to the Scioto County Jail where he will be held pending his apperance in Pike County Court.</p>
<p>The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation &amp; Identification was called to assist in the processing of the scene.  All evidence will be presented to the next term of the Pike County Grand Jury.</p>

Henderson reports that on Friday, Dec. 17th 2010 at 5:06 a.m. our Special Reponse Team executed a search warrant at 3268 Lapperell Rd., in Mifflin Township at the west end of Pike County.  The investigation revealed that drugs were being sold at this location.  James E. Bowling age 29 and James D. Bowling age 60 were both arrested and charged with Felony Trafficking in Cocaine.  Both individuals were transported to the Scioto County Jail and are being held on ten thousand dollar bond.  As a result of the warrant a large amount of narcotics, cash and firearms were seized.  This case will be presented to an upcoming term of a Pike County Grand Jury, additional charges are pending.</p>
